Biography

Kim Ratcliff joined DeHay & Elliston, L.L.P. as an Associate in 2002, and became a Partner in January 2008. Her current practice focuses on managing toxic tort litigation for a major petrochemical company. She has conducted training for the client’s national trial counsel and coordinates the client’s discovery practice around the country.

Ms. Ratcliff volunteers at the East Dallas Legal Clinic sponsored by Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. She currently is a member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association.

Ms. Ratcliff came to DeHay & Elliston after eight years in government practice in her native Arkansas. She has advised numerous local government officials on matters ranging from employment to FOIA. She has drafted legislation and has represented the state in criminal cases on both the trial and appellate levels. Ms. Ratcliff served on various committees of the American Bar Association and the Arkansas Bar Association in addition to being an active member of several other professional associations related to government practice.

Ms. Ratcliff graduated magna cum laude from Lambuth College. She then attended Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 1994. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Arkansas.

Ms. Ratcliff is active in a local gourmet club, and is a member of the Dallas Arboretum. Her volunteerism includes efforts on behalf of North Texas Food Bank, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and her neighborhood association.
