Background

Biography

Brad Kaplan focuses his practice on complex commercial and business litigation matters, including products liability litigation, real estate litigation, chemical and toxic exposure cases, and business tort actions.

Originally licensed in multiple states as an Emergency Medical Technician, Mr. Kaplan has an extensive background defending personal injury and chemical exposure actions filed against manufacturers and suppliers, arising both out of premises liability and product manufacturing claims.  He has litigated issues of cancer and disease causation, genetics, industrial hygiene practice, and epidemiological and toxicological analysis.  He has defended a wide range of toxic exposure cases, including tobacco, asbestos, chemical reagents, cutting oils, herbal/natural products, industrial solvents, and “sick building syndrome.”

Mr. Kaplan also represents plaintiffs and defendants in commercial actions including unfair trade practices, deceptive advertising, interference with business relationships, and breach of contract/lease claims in a variety of industries.  His strength lies in his ability to evaluate a case and place it into a procedural posture giving his client a tactical advantage toward settlement or trial.

Mr. Kaplan also serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and discovery referee having completed Pepperdine University’s “STAR: A Systematic Approach to Mediation Strategies” program.
